Rich and famous: ways to live a luxurious lifestyle without breaking the bank
Luxurious lifestyles: everyone wants one, but almost nobody has one (except George Clooney, Brad Pitt and other members of the rich and famous). In fact, a lavish way of life is probably one of the most coveted things in the world, and something that every person is aiming towards.
While the meaning of true lavish living comes with a lack of care towards money, this way of life is not as unattainable as you think. In fact, as unglamorous as it sounds, we have some tips and tricks to help you live a fabulous, celebrity-esque lifestyle without breaking the bank.

Time to cruise the seven seas
Every rich person seems to have a boat. Prime example: Leonardo DiCaprio, partying on the boat every day with gorgeous weather and gorgeous women. While buying a big catamaran to hold parties on might be a little out of your price range, there are still ways you can sail the seven seas.
Most people don’t want a boat all-year-round – what is there to do in winter, after all? Because of this, one of the best (and most affordable) options for boating enthusiasts is to invest in a timeshare. This way, you only have to pay a fraction of the cost for marina berthing and maintenance, but you still get to own a boat – and that’s some pretty luxurious stuff.
Fly out on holiday adventures mid-week
Living luxuriously means being able to go on holiday when you want to, but who has the money to fly internationally all the time?
Luckily, in Australia we’re blessed with a myriad of golden beaches and spectacular outback – all just a few hours away by plane! If you want to holiday regularly, it’s certainly achievable: just look for sale fares on Virgin and Jetstar, and be willing to be flexible with your travel times and destinations. Travelling mid-week can save you hundreds and flying early in the morning or late at night is also great if you’re looking to cut costs. Whitsundays, anyone?
Escape to hotels, restaurants, and more
Want to dine out every night? Fancy staying at 5-star hotels? Your dreams could become a reality if you’re smart about what you do, when you go, and how you book.
Groupon is a smorgasboard (pun intended) for anyone who wants to discover new restaurants; if you’re after fine dining though, you can’t go past the Entertainment Book. If you frequent restaurants at lunch you’ll pay less than at dinner as well.
For a night away, you can take to Wotif to book a mystery deal at a 5-star hotel for the fraction of its regular cost. There are literally endless ways to save money and live luxuriously – all it takes is a bit of research.
Know when to save and when to splurge
One of the biggest problems with celebrities is that they live in excess a lot of the time. While this isn’t a problem if you have millions and millions of dollars coming in every year, for the rest of us it just isn’t possible. Instead, know when to save (i.e. do you really need that jet pack?) and when to splurge. Be a little bit smarter with your money, and you’ll have more to spend on holidays, boats and cars before you know it.
